What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at RSM Solutions, Inc?
Thank you for taking time to stop and take a look at the HR Generalist role I posted here on LinkedIN.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Tom Welke. I am Partner & VP at RSM Solutions Inc and have been recruiting technical talent for over 23 years and been in the tech sector since the 1990s. Due to this, I don't use AI to create my job descriptions. So, no bots, no AI, just a guy authoring a job description that hopefully gives you a chuckle and will be a change of pace.
As with just about every role I work on, social fit is just as important as technical fit. So, you might be asking, what are those social fit characteristics? Here are a couple:
1) Have you ever been in an environment where there's those couple people who believe that...just because they are the loudest voices, that for some miraculous reason, they believe they are the smartest in the room? Well, this environment isn't that. This one is based on merit. If you do good work, you will be recognized for it. If you are the loudest voice in the room, but aren't really bringing any content or actions to the table, this probably isn't the environment for you.
2) Number 2 closely aligns with number 1. Everyone knows that drama king or drama queen, right? This is not an environment with ego's the size of a planet. If you believe the world revolves around you, please go back to being an "Instagram Influencer" (I still don't know what these people do)....because we won't have a fit here. This is an environment where merit and results are what we are seeking...not someone who thinks that they can talk their way to greatness (their is a less politically correct way to say this)....like I said, I like to add humor to these JD's
This client is a US subsidiary of a German based firm (no...it isn't SAP). They have been around for over 45 years and have, roughly, 520 employees (the US office that you will be responsible for, however, has roughly 50 employees). Their software is used by over 1.1 Million people and they have around 1,750 customers.
This role is being done in a hybrid manner in Orland Park, Illinois. Three days onsite and 2 days remote will do the trick. I am not looking for candidates that reside outside of driving distance to Orland Park. In addition, I can only work with US Citizens or Green Card Holders for this role. So, if you are an H1, OPT, EAD, F1, or anyone other than a US Citizen or Green Card Holder, I won't be able to work with you for this role.
For this role, we are looking for an HR Generalist. As most HR folks know, you will be involved in and assisting in fun stuff like:
- Recruiting, development of job descriptions, and onboarding new team members
- Administration of HR functions like EE relations, health & safety, compensation, benefits, training, attendance tracking, and payroll
- Policy communication, updates to the employee handbook, updates to the org chart, and benefit administration
- Organizing employee engagement activities and recognition programs
- Payroll support, payroll processing, and maintaining attendance, overtime data, and PTO records
- Performance review processes and assisting with feedback, goal setting, development & career growth.
- Ensuring HR practices comply with federal, state, and local laws.
- Assisting with employee training and development programs, and coordinating sessions to enhance skills and support career growth.
Here is what we are seeking (I have a much more exhaustive list to share, but I won't bore you to tears with a zillion gotta haves where half of them don't even exist...so, here are the major gotta haves)
- At least 5 years of experience in an HR generalist. This can be in a software firm or a manufacturing firm. This experience will need to include recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and payroll
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar
- Really cool things to see will be SHRM-CP, or PHR certs
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
