Job Overview:

The Business Systems & Data Analyst supports business processes through system integration, data analytics, and workflow automation. This role works with the Business Systems & Data Analyst Lead, assisting in optimizing business systems, developing reports, and ensuring data integrity. Additionally, this position helps analyze business needs, collaborates with stakeholders, and supports secure development and change control practices to improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Tasks

Business Systems & Process Automation

• Assist in automating IT and business workflows to enhance operational efficiency
• Support the integration of ERP and third-party systems to improve data flow
• Document business processes, system workflows, and integration methodologies
• Identify opportunities to streamline existing processes and enhance system usability

Data Analytics & Reporting

• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to provide business insights
• Perform data analysis using SQL, Power BI, and Excel to identify trends and opportunities
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity through validation and quality checks
• Collaborate with business users to define reporting needs and improve data accessibility

Technical Support & Collaboration

• Support ERP system operations, specifically Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012
• Assist in troubleshooting system and data integration issues
• Work closely with IT teams to ensure compliance with security, governance, and change control policies
• Participate in system testing, updates, and enhancements

Software Development & Secure Code Management

• Assist in writing and maintaining scripts using Python, SQL, and JavaScript
• Follow Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies
• Support the use of version control systems such as Git and Microsoft DevOps
• Help implement security and compliance best practices in system development

Continuous Improvement & Learning

• Work closely with the Business Systems & Data Analyst Lead to gain knowledge and develop expertise
• Participate in training and self-development initiatives to improve technical and business acumen
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies

Compensation:

Rex Moore pays hourly/salary rates commensurate with each employee’s knowledge, experience and skill level. 

Work environment:

Work is performed in an office environment. This position may be required to travel to other office locations.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge

• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012
• Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and data visualization tools
• Understanding of data structures, relational databases, and integration principles
• Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, and scripting for process automation
• Knowledge of business process automation and workflow optimization
• 1-3 years of experience in business systems analysis, data analytics, or programming
• Exposure to ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012)
• Proficiency with SQL, Power BI, and Excel for data analysis
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, SQL, and JavaScript
• Understanding of SDLC best practices and secure development principles
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience

Physical Requirements:  

• Ability to verbally communicate: convey detailed and accurate instructions and information
• Ability to hear with or without correction in order to receive and interpret detailed information
• Required to sit at a desk work station for long periods of time
• Push, pull, lift, carry at least 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 35 pounds
• Occasionally required to walk and stand for short and long periods of time
• Required to have visual acuity with or without correction in order to read contract documents, analyze data, view a computer monitor, and proof-read documents to identify errors 
• Required to use fingers and hands:  type using a computer keyboard, handle, feel, and reach
• May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch
