The Community You Will Join
Guest and Host Tech is responsible for the end-to-end guest and hosting experience. This includes a wide range of product surface areas such as the homepage, search, booking, planning, and pre- / on- / post-trip experiences for guests. We also develop and manage tools and surfaces for Hosts, encompassing everything from launching new product verticals to supporting existing ones, such as Homes, Experiences, multiple Homes, and Hotels on the platform.
The Difference You Will Make
Technical Program Managers (TPMs) at Airbnb handle a variety of complex projects and programs that involve multiple product surfaces, services, functions, and teams. They are required to maintain a big-picture perspective while diving into details and navigating unique challenges. This highly leveraged role enhances the quality and speed of work across cross-functional teams, acting as a "force multiplier."
In this role, you will support a company-wide initiative to consolidate User data into a single authoritative source of truth. This effort aims to ensure high-quality and consistent critical data, simplify system architecture, improve user understanding, and streamline the user experience.
A Typical Day
- Develop program scope and objectives, collaborate with relevant stakeholders, ensure technical feasibility, and drive projects end-to-end.
- Align staffing, priorities, and technical dependencies within Guest & Host Tech and cross-functional teams, managing risks that could impact program success.
- Drive teams to align and collaborate on broadly shared technical goals by maintaining a global perspective in technical design and priority decisions.
- Manage the Technical Design diligence process for large programs, align the design backlog with project plans, and engage appropriate stakeholders across teams.
- Communicate effectively to leadership and teams about key decisions, statuses, and risks to ensure accountability and adherence to timelines.
- Understand best practices, advocate for process improvements, and explore new operational methods with a focus on simplification and productivity.
- Work independently with stakeholders and cross-functional leadership with minimal supervision.
