RTI International is seeking a strategic member of the finance team who will own the measurement, reporting, and financial insights to inform leadership and drive change across the business. This person will work cross-functionally with several teams at RTI with the objective of using data to aid leadership in making effective, analytically driven decisions. This role is a critical business partner to his/her Vice President as we continue to innovate and support the execution of RTI's mission of Improving the Human Condition.
This position will support the SSES (Social, Statistical and Environmental Sciences) group. They will have budget and forecasting responsibility for a $30-$50 million organization and will be responsible for leveraging financial and operational models to thoroughly analyze the business. Our RTI research teams tackle hundreds of projects each year to address complex social and scientific challenges on behalf of governments, businesses, foundations, universities, and other clients and partners.

* Partner on SSES Vice President business decisions based on proactive financial analysis
* Create monthly forecasts and annual budgets including in-depth explanations of results vs. forecast/budget, risk and opportunity assessment
* Serve as primary Unit level interface across multiple departments (RTI Corporate, Accounting, Finance, ITS, and Contracts)
* Focus on process and continuous improvement through automation and process enhancement
* Provide financial support on Unit related Mergers and Acquisitions (as applicable)
Technical Skills
* Ability to translate complex data/ideas into actionable insights
* Expertise with financial models, ability to manage ambiguity in business modeling
* Identify and monitor appropriate performance measures, key performance indicators and associated drivers
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other data analysis/visualization tools (i.e., Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
Communication
* Ability to deliver results concisely and effectively to senior-level business leaders
* Translate data appropriately, strong use of visuals to articulate messages
* High level negotiation and persuasion skills - influence without authority
* Seeks & provides feedback with passion for continuous improvement
Leadership
* Independently proficient at business navigation, understanding inter-dependencies & knowing when to engage others, able to effectively prioritize workload, self-manage and complete tasks to best meet stakeholder's needs.

* Strong representative on cross-institute initiatives demonstrating problem solving, collaboration and innovation capabilities

Qualifications
Education
* Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Finance, or relevant field with 8 years of relevant experience required (or Masters 6)
* Other undergraduate degrees will be considered with related work experience
* Knowledge of government contracting a plus

* FP&A - budget/forecast and financial analysis process
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel
