What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Lead position at RTP Company?
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for accurately shipping and receiving all materials in/out of the warehouse and for assisting the Warehouse Associates across all areas. The Warehouse Lead is accountable for providing day-to-day technical direction of any assigned warehouse team.
Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday (6:00 am - 2:00 pm)
Responsibilities
- Under direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, provides daily work direction to warehouse staff
- Performs any position within the warehouse department as needed
- Assists with new hire training and cross training of all areas
- Provides feedback to the Warehouse Supervisor to assist in performance evaluations of staff
- Assists in the approval of vacation requests and acts as a back-up for scheduled and unscheduled employee absences to ensure adequate coverage for assigned work area
- Provide back-up to Inventory Control Specialist for closing job completions
- Delivers/stages received materials to appropriate employee/department
- Accurately receives materials and packaging supplies into system
- Generates labels via computer for material identification and ensures accurate and timely attachment to packages
- Ensures correct execution of material pulling, staging, receiving, sampling, weighing, labeling, and shipping by warehouse employees
- Works with warehouse management to investigate and document root cause of discrepancies to improve overall group performance
- Recognizes, retains, and protects confidential information, specifically with customer information pertaining to pricing, formulations, business relationships, and product characteristics
- Ensures the warehouse is maintained in accordance with housekeeping guidelines
- Provides timely and professional responses to company correspondence and emails
- Attends plant safety meetings
- Follow and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations
- Meets requirements to achieve and maintain certification and accreditations, as they pertain to job
- Other duties as assigned

- Fill in for warehouse supervisor during their absence
- Ensure correct staging of Raw Materials by warehouse employees
Education and Experience
- Must have a High School diploma/GED or 1 year like industrial experience
- Must have 3 years Shipping/Receiving and/or Warehouse experience
- Must demonstrate forklift experience and ability to operate other warehouse equipment
- Customer service experience a plus
- Inventory control experience a plus

- Standing, bending, walking for 8 hours or more
- Sustain long periods of light to moderate heavy physical activity
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Proper lifting up to 50 lbs
- Able to climb ladders and stairs
- Able to work overhead
- Subject to humidity and heat in plant areas
