The Outreach Director is a pivotal role within the Rubber Division, American Chemical Society, responsible for developing and executing strategic outreach initiatives. This position aims to engage potential members and stakeholders, build relationships with key communities and organizations, and promote the association's value proposition. The primary focus of this role is expanding awareness of the opportunities within the rubber industry, increasing awareness of the organization's student programs and services, and fostering connections across diverse audiences.
Responsibilities
Strategic Outreach Development :

o Design and implement innovative outreach strategies to engage potential members and stakeholders.
o Develop campaigns and initiatives to promote the Rubber Division’s mission and offerings.
Community and Organizational Engagement :
o Build and maintain relationships with key communities, industry leaders, and organizations.
o Represent the Rubber Division at conferences, events, and networking opportunities to enhance visibility and collaboration.
Support for Subdivisions :
o Assist subdivisions in planning and executing their outreach efforts.
o Provide guidance and resources to enhance local engagement activities.
University and Student Engagement :
o Coordinate with university student chapters, student organizations and advisors to facilitate networking events and company visits.
o Develop initiatives to inspire and support the next generation of professionals in the rubber industry.
o Establish relationships and communication with various student organizations.
Program Promotion and Value Communication :
o Working with the Marketing Director, craft compelling messages and materials that convey the association’s benefits and programs.
o Leverage social media, email marketing, and other platforms to increase awareness and participation.
Outreach Committee :
o Assist the Outreach Committee Chair in reaching the mission of the Outreach Committee as the staff liaison.
o Schedule and coordinate committee meetings. Record and provide timely minutes to the committee to maintain historical records.
Requirements
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in outreach, member engagement, or similar roles within associations or non-profit organizations.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Familiarity with the chemical or rubber industry is a plus.
- Willingness to travel as needed for events and meetings.
- Salary commensurate with experience.
