Job Overview
As a Brand Licensing Specialist, you’ll report to the Head of Brand Licensing and play a vital role in supporting product development and the licensing process across our brands. You’ll coordinate licensor submissions, track product timelines, and commercialize multiple products, while collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders. This position is key in assisting the department’s organization, meetings, and events to help streamline licensing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Development
- Develop design briefs for new items by pulling assets, aligning on components, and entering information into PLM system.
- Track product development progress in PLM, ensuring timelines are met.
- Oversee the duplicates process, ensuring requests are made after licensor approval.
- Coordinate and participate in photo shoots, selecting and submitting images for promotional and licensing purposes, and photograph contractual samples for licensor approval before production.
- Licensing
- Manage licensor portal submissions for companies including Mattel, Viacom, Sega, SpinMaster, MGM and more.
- Upload product images, track licensor feedback, and collaborate with designers on revisions using PLM.
- Department Support
- Assist with meeting preparation, trade shows, and industry events.
- Maintain organization of items digitally (in Excel) and physically (sample racks, tagging product).
- Update PowerPoint presentations, including selling stories and licensing decks.
- Partner with Marketing to ensure consumer-facing materials use official, approved assets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferred field in Business Management or Marketing.
- 0-3 years of administrative or relevant business experience; licensing experience is a plus.
- Experience with licensor submission portals, approval process, and the licensed product development process is a plus.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with confidence in supporting calls, meetings, presentations, and working with external partners.
- Detail oriented, organized, and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook; experience with PLM is a plus.
