What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Assembler II position at Rudolph Research Analytical?
SUMMARY:
Duties include mechanical fabrication of parts for various subassemblies, assembly and alignment of opto-mechanical instruments, alignment of optical devices, and incoming inspection of machined parts.
Must have positive attitude & strong work ethic. Successful candidate will be responsible, hard-working, trust-worthy and dependable person who is able to maintain a neat and orderly work area.
WORK PERFORMED:
- Lay out, plan, and perform a wide variety shop floor assembly installation consisting of (but not limited to) mechanical fastening of electronic/electrical components.
- Use common assembly, hand and power tools, drills, and measuring devices such as volt meters and continuity testers as required.
- System testing consisting of checking input/output to all devices, verify correct operations of devices and systems.
- Verify parts of free of flaws, defects, or imperfections and meet all dimensional requirements as specified on drawings.
- Assist Engineering with machine testing and factory acceptance testing as needed.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SKILLS:
- General mechanical aptitude/ability for the assembly process
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical tools and equipment
- Attention to detail and ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, blueprints and schematics as required a plus.
- The ability to work with and understand electromechanical functionality a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
- Assembly experience in the electronics industry or a manufacturing environment preferred but willing to train.
Education:
- High School diploma or GED certificate preferred.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail, self-starter, organized.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Shared office space.
- Regular interaction with other employees, engineers, and departments.
- May be required to work business hours and non-business hours during heavy demand periods.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Up to 50% of the time is spent standing and moving around the production area.
- May be exposed to loud noises.
- Personal Protective Gear required at times (i.e., gloves, goggles, ear protection). PPE is provided by the company.
- May use chemicals.
- Must be able to lift 40 to 50 pounds.
HOURS:
- Monday thru Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Additional hours may be required during heavy demand periods.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
