Axiom Consultants is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Land Survey Technician to join our team. As a Survey Technician, you will assist in performing fieldwork and office tasks related to land surveys, including boundary, topographic, construction staking, and control surveys. Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting field surveys, including boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.
- Operate survey instruments such as total stations, GPS, data collectors, and other surveying tools.
- Collect and record accurate data during fieldwork and ensure the proper use of survey equipment.
- Set up and operate GPS systems to determine precise locations for survey points.
- Assist in preparing maps, plots, and legal descriptions of surveyed areas.
- Perform calculations and adjustments on survey data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Assist in construction layout and staking for various civil engineering projects.
- Work collaboratively with surveyors, engineers, and other technicians on projects.
- Maintain and organize survey equipment and vehicles.
Qualifications:

While experience in land surveying is preferred, we are willing to provide comprehensive training for the right candidate who demonstrates the drive, enthusiasm, and commitment to succeed in this role
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or technical training in surveying or related field preferred, but not required.
- 1-2 years of experience in land surveying or a related field, preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with survey equipment such as GPS systems, total stations, and data collectors.
- Knowledge of land surveying principles, methods, and practices.
- Experience with Civil 3D is a plus.
- Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites.
Skills:
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Open-minded and adaptable, with a desire to continuously learn and improve through training and experience
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks on time.
- Familiarity with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software is a bonus.
