Land Survey Technician

Axiom Consultants is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Land Survey Technician to join our team. As a Survey Technician, you will assist in performing fieldwork and office tasks related to land surveys, including boundary, topographic, construction staking, and control surveys. Responsibilities:

• Assist in conducting field surveys, including boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.
• Operate survey instruments such as total stations, GPS, data collectors, and other surveying tools.
• Collect and record accurate data during fieldwork and ensure the proper use of survey equipment.
• Set up and operate GPS systems to determine precise locations for survey points.
• Assist in preparing maps, plots, and legal descriptions of surveyed areas.
• Perform calculations and adjustments on survey data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Assist in construction layout and staking for various civil engineering projects.
• Work collaboratively with surveyors, engineers, and other technicians on projects.
• Maintain and organize survey equipment and vehicles.

Qualifications:

We are seeking a motivated and eager individual who is passionate about learning and growing with us. While experience in land surveying is preferred, we are willing to provide comprehensive training for the right candidate who demonstrates the drive, enthusiasm, and commitment to succeed in this role

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or technical training in surveying or related field preferred, but not required. 
• 1-2 years of experience in land surveying or a related field, preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with survey equipment such as GPS systems, total stations, and data collectors.
• Knowledge of land surveying principles, methods, and practices.
• Experience with Civil 3D is a plus.
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Open-minded and adaptable, with a desire to continuously learn and improve through training and experience
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks on time.
• Familiarity with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software is a bonus.
