Job Title: Construction Review Technician

Team/Location: Construction & Engineering Team, Waukesha Office

Description:

Goals and Responsibilities:

• Inspect the construction of sewer, water, paving, and other municipal infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with construction plans, specifications, and safety standards.
• Prepare accurate daily reports, including record drawings, using electronic reporting software.
• Provide timely and accurate project updates to contractors, project managers, and clients.
• Serve as the on-site coordinator for construction projects, ensuring effective communication and problem-solving among all stakeholders.
• Interact with the public, responding to questions in a professional and diplomatic manner.
• Proactively recommend solutions to issues related to construction progress, quality, and community concerns.
• Assist with the verification of construction materials, measurements, and overall adherence to project specifications.
• Ensure construction best practices are followed in the field.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: An Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology is preferred, but not required.
• Experience: No prior experience required—we’ll provide the training you need to succeed! Experience or knowledge in municipal infrastructure, construction management, or civil engineering is a plus, but not mandatory
• Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Ability to measure, estimate, and verify that project specifications are being met using various tools and methods.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to diplomatically interact with contractors, municipal officials, residents, and project teams.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address construction-related issues on-site and provide resolutions.
• Personal Traits:
  • A positive attitude and a proactive approach to tackling challenges.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong organizational skills to keep track of multiple tasks and responsibilities on construction sites.
• Licenses and Certifications:
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle with appropriate insurance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
