What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant position at Rufus and Delilah Dog Walking?

Rufus and Delilah Dog Walking and Pet Sitting is a boutique style hands on personalized pet sitting business based in Sherman Oaks currently looking for a part-time assistant to work either 3 days a week or 5 half days a week. We are open to you choosing the days of the week that will work best for you as long as it falls within our office hours. There may be times we would ask you to cover shifts other days of the week on an as needed basis. We specialize in dog walking and in home pet sitting for cats and dogs, including overnight stays while our clients are away.

We are looking for a person with the ability to manage client/team issues with calm and tact. It is imperative that you are reliable, punctual, articulate, and can willingly support our business organization with steady and accurate attention to detail. Ideal candidates will need to demonstrate excellent customer service (experience a plus), strong computer skills, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, self-manage, work well independently, and have the ability to manage multiple projects.

Strong, professional written and verbal communication skills are required, as well as solid computer skills (Google docs/sheets, online web applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).

Job Duties:

  • Reply to new and current client emails and phone calls.
  • Schedule services for clients in our pet sitting software
  • Track new client inquiries via spreadsheets
  • Track cancellations & booking via spreadsheets
  • Act as liaison between walkers/sitters and clients when there are issues at client’s pets or homes
  • Know to always ask for help if you are not sure of anything or how to handle a situation.
  • Give your ideas, ingenuity and know-how when you see that improvements can be made in order to create a more dynamic and efficient company.

Here are the details:

This will be a part-time position for now with the opportunity to grow into full-time if that is something you want. After training is complete the hours are approximately 30 hours per week with the opportunity for more by leading new client consultations outside of your shifts. The schedule is flexible.

This is an exciting permanent P/T job that will grow with the right person. I’d like to hire someone who has enough flexibility in their current work schedule to also work other days of the week if needed.

Pay rate will be $18/hour.
