What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Worker position at Rule No. 8, LLC?
Overview
Hey, I'm Ben! I'm the owner of a small business that's been operating since 2019. It's been great but I've hit the point where the work is outpacing me and need to hire on a dedicated part-time worker to help handle the things that slow me down the most. You would primarily be responsible for unpacking/preparing large amounts of small commercial products (think leather goods to journals) for me to customize, and then help pack them up for shipping once complete. It's very simple, highly repetitive work but still requires a good amount of attention to detail. That said, it's the kind of thing where once you build up the muscle memory for it you can pretty much run on autopilot. Easy stuff, no prior experience needed. Most shifts would be in the 11am-5pm window. Never weekends.
I realize that it isn't exactly a high-octane, high wage job that most people would want to work for long, but I'm hoping to make the work environment easy and comfortable enough so that you'd be very hard pressed to find a better job for the money.
Potential growth opportunities may involve being trained to help with handmade leather goods production (if so, it would involve an associated pay increase). The leather goods are a side of the business that has taken a hiatus as there just hasn't been enough time for it in a while, but demand has always been there and if I can get ahead enough on the rest of the work I would really like to spin it up again. If you have any experience with leather or any other fine-detailed hobby or work you get bonus points.
