RK&K is seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee rail and transit construction projects and provide program management services to the clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for managing construction projects, coordinating with contractors and owners, overseeing field inspection teams, and ensuring quality assurance and compliance with contract requirements. Typical projects include rail alignments, train stations, bus lanes and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), and operations and maintenance facilities.
Essential Functions
- Oversee and manage rail and transit construction projects, ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications and safety regulations.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams including construction managers, inspectors, engineers, and subcontractors to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Coordinate and manage contractor activities to ensure adherence to contract documents, project milestones, and safety protocols.
- Conduct field oversight and inspections to ensure construction quality, identify issues, and work with contractors to resolve conflicts.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and risk assessments, ensuring accurate reporting and forecasting throughout the project lifecycle.
- Liaise with key stakeholders such as transit agencies, railroads, public agencies, and utility companies to facilitate project coordination and approvals.
- Ensure compliance with FTA, FRA, and DOT regulations and agency-specific requirements for federally funded transit projects.
- Support claims analysis and resolution, working with legal and contractual teams to manage change orders and contractor negotiations.
- Prepare technical reports, progress reports, and presentations for clients, agency partners, and internal leadership.
- Develop and mentor staff, providing guidance to junior team members and fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
