We are looking to add a Geotechnical Project Engineer to our Virginia team. Join us in supporting diverse transportation, transit, and environmental projects such as highway and rail bridges, buildings, retaining walls, slopes, pavements, ground treatment of soft soils and subgrades, and utilities. Ideal candidates possess VDOT and Virginia municipal experience, proactive problem-solving skills, a solid grasp of geotechnical principles, and hands-on expertise in geotechnical / pavement design and field operations. You'll collaborate across disciplines, helping to prepare plans and reports for various geotechnical and pavement projects, supervising field investigations, performing design computations, and writing reports and offering recommendations. Essential Function
- Assist our geotechnical / pavement design and engineering group throughout Virginia with development and delivery of geotechnical assignments
- Assist with client relations to secure future clients and workload
- Foster innovative design concepts related to Geotechnical Engineering to enhance project efficiency
- Serve as Project Engineer on a variety of geotechnical related projects
- Prepare task proposals
- Develop and oversee subsurface exploration programs
- Prepare design calculations and geotechnical engineering reports
- Aid in producing construction documents, specifications, and construction cost estimates
- Serve as a liaison between clients and firm
