What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Receptionist / Concierge position at Runk & Pratt Senior Living Communities?
Runk & Pratt Senior Living Communities is looking for a Front Desk Receptionist to join their office teams for their locations around Lynchburg, Forest and Smith Mountain Lake areas. Part time weekends and some week days.

The Receptionist has the responsibility for answering phones and providing quality services to residents in an environment that promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice and individuality as illustrated in Essential Functions. Displays a positive attitude and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Answers multi-line telephone system and routes calls to appropriate staff
- Responds and relays resident call bell alerts
- Ability to communicate and understand the physical and mental needs of the elderly
- Ability to follow complex written and oral directions and to relate to the residents and families as well as other staff to ensure the best quality care for the residents
- Be accessible to residents and families as needed and be available by being at the concierge desk
- Sets up interviews and checks employment references
- Enters maintenance work order requests into TELS system
- Orders office and medical supplies as needed
- Makes copies for all Departments as needed
- Prepares employee name badges
- Review and make appropriate comments in the communication log daily
- Performs rounds of the facility and contacts the appropriate staff for correction
- Keeps Administration well informed on issues/problems that arise with residents, staff or families
- Attendance is required during inclement weather
- Must have proven computer skills and the ability to learn new programs and systems
- Must be able to perform duties in accordance with the guidelines mandated by Social Services as the licensing agent of this facility
- Be of acceptable physical and mental health to carry out assigned duties
- Must possess mature judgment skills and be able to respond to emergency situations
- Provides support in any area that may arise that is above and beyond the normal expectations for this position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. without limitations using proper body mechanics
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Able to sit for extended periods of time
- Able to communicate effectively on telephone
- Able to work under stress, maintaining composure and patience
- Able to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from high school or GED
- Complete annual in-service training as required
- State Police background check that is free from barrier offenses
- A current Tuberculosis test on or within 7 days prior to the first day of employment and free from Tuberculosis
- The ability to meet Physical Requirements for Position
- The ability to pass a Drug Test
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed
