Description
We seek a full time and a part time Kitchen Assistant to work week days, evenings and weekends.
This position is responsible for maintaining sanitary conditions in the various food outlets at all times. Additionally, the Kitchen Assistant is responsible for proper disposition of dirty dishes, trash and replenishment of stock, and assists the cook with ingredient preparation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures that the kitchen is clean and operational.
- Performs all washing and cleaning duties required in the kitchen
- Assists with inventory control
- Removes garbage, washes garbage cans and cleans refrigerators, freezers and storage rooms.
- Properly cleans and sanitizes all food preparation areas according to established standards of hygiene.
- Washes and appropriately stores all cooking utensils, instruments, appliances, cutting boards and dishes
- Assists the cook with preparations of meal ingredients, which includes washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting and chopping
- Sweeps and mops the kitchen floors and wipes down kitchen walls
- Assists with the unloading of food supplies
- Correctly stores food suplies
- Must adhere to the safety rules and regulations of the Running Creek Casino and of the Food and Beverage Department.
Native American Preference will apply in accordance with Tribal policies
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Required:
- At least 18 years of age
High school diploma or GED required
Skills Required:
- Basic organizational skills
- Good verbal communication skills
- Customer service, interpersonal and teamwork skills necessary to maintain quality service delivery
- Accurate and detail-oriented
Abilities Required:
- Ability to maintain high confidentiality
- Ability to independently manage multiple tasks in a professional manner
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to independently lift up to 100 pounds routinely
- Able to prioritize tasks
- Ability to follow direction

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this position, the team member is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and push a cart weighing 150 pounds.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Office, gaming floor and convention center environment including flashing lights, frequent loud noisesand cigarette smoke. Must handle hazardous materials. Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any hours and/or shift, as assigned, according to business needs. Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals.
