What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician position at Rural Animal Clinic?
We are a small animal veterinary clinic looking to expand our team of veterinary technicians/receptionists. The ideal candidate should have great communication skills, be able to multi-task, a positive, team-oriented person have a passion for animals.
MUST BE WITH AN EXPERIENCE AT LEAST 3 YEARS IN THE VETERINARY FIELD.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
-Triage and obtain patient history.
-Venipuncture-Placing intravenous catheters
-Familiar with performing dental cleanings and dental x-rays
-Prepare prescriptions and communicate discharge orders to clients
-Surgical prep and monitoring patients under anesthesia
-Client education on routine pet care.
-Will need to be able to administer IV, SQ and IM injections, demonstrate proper animal handling and restraint, draw blood, and more. Candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds.
-All interested applicants should have good computer and communication skills.
- Familiar with AVImark system.
