SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for maintaining complete and accurate project financial records. Ensures accurate internal and external recording and reporting of financial transactions. Ensures that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, and Company procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following listed below. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Assumes responsibility for the effective preparation, maintenance, and reporting of monthly internal and external financial reports.
- Collect and review monthly project cost reports providing feedback to project team as needed.
- Review and post monthly subcontractor pay applications confirming that they are compliant with contract billing requirements.
- Prepares and distributes monthly owner pay applications relaying inconsistencies with project manager reporting to controller and project management.
- Monitors synchronization of project records between project management software (Procore) and accounting software (Viewpoint Vista) to ensure accurate and complete records in both systems.
- Review outstanding accounts receivable and follow up with clients/project teams as needed to facilitate timely payments.
- Assists with reviewing/resolving subcontractor payment issues, owner pay application questions and other day to day problems as they arise.
2. Acts as main point of contact in accounting for operations teams on assigned projects.
- Reviews prime contract documents in order to gain a good understanding of required project accounting/billing practices.
- Works in conjunction with the estimating department and project management team to set up project budgets.
- Assists with project cost reporting for the annual financial audit and project cost certification audits.
- Ensures that accounting records and reports are in compliance with GAAP.
- Assists AP specialists with proper coding of project related invoices.
3.Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
- Ensures that the work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
- Stays informed of trends and changes in the accounting and finance fields.
- Completes special accounting projects as assigned.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field a plus.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
One to three years of project accounting experience in the A/E/C industry. Viewpoint Accounting Software preferred, Procore Project Management Software preferred, and must be Fluent in Microsoft Excel Experience with OAKS/E-Builder a huge plus.
