Position Description
The Major Gifts Manager is responsible for developing and implementing fundraising plans to secure gifts of $1,000 - $25,000 and above and building a qualified major gift pool of prospective donors for Rush Copley. This position serves as a key member of the Rush Copley Foundation team as well as the RUMC Philanthropy major gifts fundraising team. The Manager is responsible for building a major gift runway for Rush Copley with a focus on grateful patients. The position will engage Rush Copley senior leaders and physician partners to facilitate referrals and work with the Rush Copley Vice President as well as the RUMC Philanthropy prospect management team to qualify, cultivate, solicit, close, and steward a portfolio of donors. This position reports to the Vice President, Philanthropy and Community Engagement at Rush Copley with an indirect report to the Rush Philanthropy Executive Director of Major Gifts.
Position Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Five or more years of increasingly responsible positions in development or a related field, preferably in a health care or higher education setting.
- A proactive, self-starter with a strong work ethic and demonstrated success in relationship building
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently.
- Interest in and sensitivity to the special needs of patients and their families.
- Excellent oral, written, analytic and communication skills; strong interpersonal skills.
- Face-to-face cultivation/solicitation/sales experience.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends, as necessary.
- Professional demeanor.
- Knowledge of Rush Copley’s market and the greater Aurora community is preferred.
$33.42 - $50.12 Hourly
RUSH salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. The pay range for each role reflects RUSH’s anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.
