Rusnak Auto Group is seeking a Accountant. This position contributes to the success of Rusnak Automotive Group and affiliated entities by effectively managing and overseeing the accounting functions across a diverse portfolio of companies. This includes the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records, as well as generating comprehensive financial statements for each entity, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to support business decision-making. The Staff Accountant will ensure the integrity and efficiency of financial information across automotive, real estate, and investment businesses.

Responsibilities
KRA: Successfully Maintain and Update General Ledger through Financial Statement:
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, ensuring the accuracy of financial records for multiple entities (automotive, real estate, investments)
- Leverage SAGE 50 Accounting software to maintain records, process transactions, and generate financial reports
- Perform regular reconciliations of accounts, including bank accounts, credit card accounts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by preparing and submitting various governmental filings (Sales Tax, Unclaimed Property, W-9, 8300, etc.)
- Generate and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet) for all assigned companies
- Develop and maintain accurate schedules, statements, and financial reports to reflect the financial health of all entities
- Assist projects relating to the accounting department on a regular basis
KRA: Efficiently and Effectively Prepare, Execute, and Maintain Key Financial Documentation:
- Analyze financial data and develop spreadsheet reports, identifying trends and providing recommendations for process improvements
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate financial data and documentation as requested
- Assist in the preparation of financial documentation for tax filings, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Ensure sensitive financial information is handled with confidentiality, in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
KRA: Accounting for Real Estate and Investment Holdings:
- Manage accounting functions related to real estate holdings, including rent roll tracking, property-related expenses, and real estate investment transactions.
- Reconcile property-related accounts, such as mortgages, utilities, and property taxes.
- Track and report on investment portfolios, analyzing income and expenses and providing financial insights to management
- Assist with the coordination of financial transactions for real estate acquisitions or sales, including the preparation of closing documents and financial reports.
KRA: Professional Development and Continuous Improvement:
- Continuously improve accounting skills and knowledge, including updates on accounting standards, tax laws, and best practices.
- Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance organizational, communication, and technical skills
- Consistently produces efficient work, even in peak periods, that meets “The Rusnak ”
Qualifications
EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: Minimum of 3 years in position of accountant or similar positions in Automotive, Retail, Sales, Hospitality or Food & Beverage, or Service
- Required: Degree in Accounting or related
- Required: SAGE 50 Accounting Software experience.
- Required: Strong Microsoft Skills at proficient level.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skill.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (Bi-lingual in English and other language is an asset in this position).
- At least eighteen (18) years of
- Required: Current California Driver License with satisfactory Department of Motor Vehicle driving
