Summary
The Russ Darrow group is looking for an individual with an exceptional insight in the automotive market. This position is responsible for purchasing vehicles from service customers, using market data and our inventory system to determine pricing. You'll work with management on appraisals and acquisitions, aiming to meet income targets while providing regular progress updates. This position does require some traveling around Wisconsin and the Midwest.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Purchasing: Buying vehicles at auctions, and making financially sound purchasing decisions
- Negotiation: Negotiating prices at auctions, and setting and negotiating pricing
- Inventory: Helping predict future inventory needs, and identifying buying needs and price points
- Analysis: Analyzing price trends, and understanding reconditioning costs
- Inspection: Conducting multi-point vehicle inspections, and performing on-site customer trade-in or sell-only vehicle appraisals
- Communication: Communicating with quality control inspectors, and maintaining professional relationships with sellers
- Documentation: Completing auction paperwork, and providing proper documentation to the business office
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- College Degree preferred but not required; High school diploma or the equivalent required.
- Professional personal appearance.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to meet company's production and quality standards.
- Outstanding Computer skills required.
- 3-5 previous years of automotive buying required
- Previous dealership, selling or marketing experience preferred.
- All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver license
