Position Overview:
The Inventory Analyst plays a crucial role in the organization’s product planning and control, ensuring optimal inventory levels while supporting the lifecycle and distribution strategies. This position involves analyzing vendor proposals, managing costs, quality, service, and availability, and acting as a liaison between Russell Cellular and its vendors. The Inventory Analyst will work closely with internal teams such as Merchandising, Marketing, and Sales Leaders to meet strategic goals, improve purchasing leverage, and align with market demands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong working relationships with vendors to ensure timely product deliveries, optimal pricing, and high-quality service.
- Device Lifecycle & Distribution: Oversee the planning and control of product lifecycles, ensuring smooth product flow from vendors to the organization.
- Inventory Management: Review sell-through data and stock levels to determine and establish optimal inventory levels based on forecasts, demand variation, and lead times.
- Forecasting & Planning: Work with the Purchasing team to update and adjust forecasts as needed; generate and maintain weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasting models.
- Promotional Planning: Collaborate with internal teams to review the monthly promotional planner and ensure inventory levels meet anticipated demand for upcoming promotions.
- Shipping & Receiving Coordination: Coordinate with Shipping and Receiving to ensure timely product flow through the facility, maintaining efficiency and accuracy in product movement.
- Cost Control & Budgeting: Budget and purchase inventory in a proactive, cost-effective manner to support operational goals and maximize profitability.
- Market & Demand Analysis: Analyze market trends and demand patterns to recommend optimal inventory targets and purchasing strategies.
- Reporting & Communication: Prepare and deliver inventory forecasts and reports to both internal teams and external distribution partners to ensure alignment on product availability and demand.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Partner with various departments (Merchandise Planning, Marketing, Sales Leaders) to align inventory strategies with business objectives and improve purchasing leverage.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in inventory analysis or supply chain management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to forecast and manage inventory levels effectively
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and with external vendors
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other inventory management or planning tools
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Ability to work independently and proactively, while contributing to a team environment
