Sr Principal Software Test Engineer

Position SummaryThe Software QA Engineer will support testing of medical products throughout the development and maintenance lifecycle.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following : Lead software verification activities for a complex medical imaging system.Lead anomaly reviews and track disposition.Write test plans, write and execute test protocols, and report bugs found during testing.Participate in hardware integration testing activities.Work closely with engineering to help them understand the issues found.Write automated tests and software utilities to help with software verification activities.Validate non-product software.Participate in product design documentation reviews for safety, consistency, traceability, and compliance to regulations.Participate in product reviews to ensure consistency, correctness, and testability of requirements.Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining results.Impact on Product QualityThis position includes the verification of safety-critical features. Undetected anomalies could lead to degraded product performance and potentially cause life-threatening situations for patients.Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)Minimum Education : Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or other related technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum Experience : Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience testing medical device systems.Job Skills : Must be flexible, highly organized, and have a passion for testing.Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must be detail-oriented.High integrity, tremendous work ethic, and the passion to succeed.Must have a good understanding of medical device standards (21 CFR Part 820.30, IEC 62304, ISO 14971).Experience with test automation is desirable.Working experience with Atlassian tools is desirable.Working experience with C, C , Linux is desirable.Experience with complex medical imaging products is desirable.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
