What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Controller position at Russell Tobin?
Our client is looking to hire an Assistant Controller to support the Chief Financial Officer and the Finance/Account Team. This is a full-time, hybrid role: 4 days in office, 1 day remote.
Job functions:
- Directing accounting operations. This could include banking relationships, cash funding, general ledger, AR/AP, trust accounts, partner accounting, annual audits, etc.
- Oversee and review internal and external financial statements
- Manage pension plans, responsible for annual pension audit and Form 5500
- Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
- Help with year-end closing and auditing process
- Manage a small team
Basic Qualifications:
- 10 years of related experience.
- Experience working in a law firm.
- Strong communication, analytical, technical, and management skills.
- Strong foundational knowledge of finance and account principles.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Bachelor's Degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Management experience is a plus.
- CPA a plus.
Compensation: $125,000 - $150,000
