Job Title: Electrical Field Engineer

Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Duration: 12 months with the possibility of extension
Working Hours: Standard 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. EST (Overtime up to 60 hours/week, including weekends/shutdowns)
Travel: Up to 50% (Domestic travel only)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Field Engineer to join our team at TMMK in Georgetown, KY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical building system design, construction management, and commissioning activities. This role requires hands-on experience with industrial or commercial building projects, as well as extensive knowledge of safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and industry standards.
The Electrical Field Engineer will be responsible for overseeing electrical system installations, coordinating with contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with codes, and managing construction administration activities. Candidates must be highly organized, possess excellent communication skills, and be comfortable working in fast-paced industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate electrical building system design, startups, and commissioning activities.
- Review product and equipment submittals, engineering design drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures, Electrical Safe Work Practices, and Arc Flash safety.
- Conduct continuous work progress inspections to verify compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Work closely with construction contractors, plant facilities teams, and manufacturing shops to coordinate weekend and shutdown work.
- Manage project schedules, quality confirmations, weekly coordination meetings, and planned utility outages.
- Oversee electrical contractors to ensure adherence to project milestones, industry standards, and delivery methods.
- Prepare field engineering reports detailing work progress and schedule updates.
- Provide technical guidance to improve project specifications and engineering standards.
- Communicate technical details effectively through written and verbal formats.
- Manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines in alignment with project milestones.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Must Have)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design (10 years preferred)
- 2 years of experience in construction management (Industrial/Commercial buildings required)
- Strong understanding of design criteria development for electrical systems
- Experience in automotive manufacturing environments (engine, transmission, or vehicle facilities preferred)
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA requirements, building codes, and industry standards (IBC, NEC, NESC, NFPA, ASME, etc.)
- Strong organizational, communication, and schedule management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Bluebeam and AutoCAD
- Previous experience in a large-scale industrial or automotive setting
- Strong ability to coordinate and lead electrical system commissioning activities
