What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant - Tax Entry Level position at Rust Belt Resources?
Rust Belt Resources is the preferred directhire partner for recruiting an entrylevel staff accountant in the tax group of a national organization. This position reports to the Tax Accountant and will support the tax team in all aspects of tax functions. This position will be required to file sales use specialty tax returns filings and assist in resolving tax notices. Additionally this position may participate in taxrelated audits and ad hoc
reporting and requests related to all tax types.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
1. Prepare and file states sales / use tax franchise excise personal property gross receipts and
other specialty tax types.
2. Prepare and file state / local business registrations returns and license and permits.
3. Support payroll providers with state withholding unemployment and other specialty payroll accounts registrations and withdrawals.
4. Assist tax team with corporate registrations withdrawals and filing annual reports to Secretary of States.
5. Process tax notices and route to proper resolution path including corporate payroll and specialty tax types.
6. Assist tax team with addressing tax notices in timely manner and preparation of tax notice responses.
7. Assist tax team with federal states and international tax payments.
8. Conduct research on tax related issues and summarize findings for various departments and management.
9. Organize and maintain tax records and documents.
10. Provide support in tax specific audits as needed.
11. Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
Bachelor s degree accounting or other related fields required
02 yrs. prior accounting experience with an interest in corporate tax
Proficient in MS Office specifically MS Excel
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Strict attention to detail highly organized and efficient
Excellent oral and written communication skills
High level of integrity and confidentiality
Ability to provide outstanding customer service
Ability to adapt and learn new skills
Ability to work in a team environment
