Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Coordinator II for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. The Program Coordinator will work closely with the MACH Executive Director and the MACH Senior Program Coordinator to provide general administrative and logistical support.
Supported by a cooperative agreement with the National Science Foundation, the Megalopolitan Coastal Transformation Hub (MACH) is a Rutgers-led, 12-institution hub within the NSF’s Coastlines and People program. Working with community partners in the New York City-New Jersey-Philadelphia region, MACH aims to 1) facilitate flexible, equitable, and robust multidecadal planning to manage climate risk, while 2) advancing the scientific understanding of how interactions among coastal climate hazards, changing landforms, and human decisions shape climate risk. Housed within the Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, the Rutgers Earth System Science and Policy (ESSP) Lab takes a transdisciplinary, computationally intensive approach to investigating the evolution of the Earth system, human influences on the Earth system, and policy approaches for managing those human influences on the Earth system, and policy approaches for managing those human influences. We heavily employ the techniques of statistical and geophysical modeling and quantitative risk analysis and also engage in active outreach and policy engagement programs. This is a grant-funded position, employment in this position is contingent upon the availability of funds. This position will expire once the grant has ended.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Assists the Executive Director of the Megalopolitan Coastal Transformation Hub, and the Director of the Rutgers Earth System Science & Policy Lab.
- Responsible for the administrative tasks associated with the programs and projects for the Megalopolitan Coastal Transformation Hub and the Rutgers Earth System Science and Policy Lab.
