CNC Drafter

Job Purpose: The CAD Drafter/CNC Programmer is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and designs using CAD software and programming CNC machines to produce high-quality parts and components. This dual role requires a blend of technical precision and creativity, ensuring that designs meet customer specifications and manufacturing process requirements.

Essential Functions

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D models using CAD software for various projects. Ensure all designs meet the required specifications and are aligned with project goals.
• Write and optimize CNC programs to manufacture precise and complex components. Use CAD models to simulate and adjust machining processes.
• Review and interpret customer specifications, engineering drawings, and prototypes to develop manufacturing instructions for CNC machines.
• Work closely with the customers, sales team, and producers to translate conceptual designs into practical, detailed drafts.
• Perform regular checks and revisions of designs and CNC programs to ensure accuracy and efficiency in production.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for all designs and CNC programs for reference and compliance purposes.
• {C}{C}Troubleshoot design and machining issues, providing practical and timely solutions to maintain workflow and project timelines.
• {C}{C}Stay updated with the latest CAD and CNC technologies, suggesting improvements to design and production processes.
• Assist in woodworking projects as needed with the highest level of craftsmanship.

Education – High school or equivalent GED is required, and a bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Experience – Experience with CAD software (such as AutoCAD Fusion365) and CNC programming (Vectric vCarve and G-Code). Previous experience with flooring, construction industry, or manufacturing.
