POSITION OVERVIEW
The Rental Manager is charged with overall responsibility for day-to-day management/operation of the Rental Department following company policies and procedures.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Achieves rental revenue, expense, and profitability objectives.
- Sales and Marketing of the Rental Department.
- Rental fleet equipment management.
- Assist the management team in preparing annual business plan.
- Develop and implement a rental sales and marketing plan.
- Develop and use a systematic approach to rental sales calls utilizing telemarketing, mailers, and personal customer visits.
- Develop and maintain relationships with large volume rental customers.
- Provide weekly and monthly sales reports to management.
- Establish Idealease rates for various equipment types thru market analysis.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for Rental Operations, to include check-in/check-out of equipment, vehicle files, customer files, daily yard check.
- Daily interaction with the Service Department to ensure rental equipment is maintained according to company standards and DOT regulations.
- Develop and maintain a system for daily yard checks and reporting of Rental utilization to management.
- Develop and maintain a system for customer insurance files, verifying customer coverage is documented and on file.
- Follow company procedures regarding credit policies.
- Develop and maintain a rental billing routine to insure accurate and timely billing of rental charges to customers.
- Hire, train, and manage the rental sales and counter employees.
- Analyze monthly vehicle P&L’s to ensure gross margin goals are attained and initiate corrective action where needed.
- Create an environment to ensure cleanliness, safety, and customer focus.
- Assist in collection of past due invoices.
- Safeguard company assets by maintaining strong internal controls.
Salary range for Rental Manager (depending on experience level) can range from $65,000-$120,000.
ACTIVITY AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Employee safety is a prime concern of RWC. This position is not a safety sensitive position (unless moving customer vehicle is required at your location) and may fall under the requirements of the RWC Drug and Alcohol policy.
Knowledge Requirements
- 5 years Demonstrated ability in consultative and strategic selling techniques, including previous experience in articulating / presenting multiple products both verbally and in writing.
- Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects / work streams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of truck industry preferred.
Must be able to successfully pass a background check and a pre-hire drug and alcohol test.
