We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) for a full-time on-site role based in Albany, New York. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, performance tuning, and support of Oracle databases, ensuring the security, integrity, and high availability of critical systems. This role requires a proactive professional with deep technical expertise in Oracle 11g/12c/19c and a strong understanding of enterprise-level database environments.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c) in development, test, and production environments.
- Manage and monitor database performance, implementing tuning measures to ensure optimal operation.
- Design and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans using RMAN and Oracle Data Guard.
- Administer high availability and replication solutions (e.g., RAC, Active Data Guard).
- Monitor system health using OEM and performance tools (AWR, ADDM, etc.).
- Support application development teams in SQL tuning, PL/SQL procedures, and schema design.
- Implement database security, user access control, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (SOX, HIPAA, etc.).
- Maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and change management.
- Participate in on-call rotation for production support and system maintenance activities.
- 5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA supporting production environments.
- Proficiency with Oracle 11g, 12c, and/or 19c, including installation and upgrades.
- Strong skills in SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning techniques.
- Experience with RMAN, Oracle Data Guard, and Oracle RAC.
- Proficient in Unix/Linux scripting for automation and maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of database security policies and best practices.
- Experience with OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) for monitoring and administration.
- Familiarity with incident, change, and problem management processes.
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or similar certification.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS RDS for Oracle).
- Experience with NoSQL or secondary RDBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) is a plus.
- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks for service delivery and support.
