Title: Assistant manager of operations (Patient transport)

Type: Full time in office

Compensation: $55K

Position Summary:

  • Responsible for the effective supervision of Patient Transportation services which includes, but is not limited to, the successful management of client relations, patient and customer satisfaction, program quality standards, patient flow improvements, performance improvement, and personnel performance and productivity. Responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and supervising of Patient Transportation and Hospital activities with regards to everyday operations. Ensures compliance with necessary regulatory agencies and established policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and promotes positive, effective customer service relations with patients, patient family members, visitors, and staff; ensures safe, comfortable, pleasant, and efficient transportation of patients.
  • Ensures accurate and timely delivery of patients, specimens, blood, equipment, and other patient-related items; ensures maximum staff productivity.
  • Resolves problems related to patient, visitor, staff, or employee complaints regarding Patient Transport Services; recommends and participates in the solution of on-going problems or trends.
  • Demonstrates and promotes Crothall Healthcare culture, values, and management philosophy in conjunction with the resident facility.
  • Exhibits excellent telephone etiquette and listening skills. Displays interpersonal savvy.
  • Utilizes effective dispatching logic in prioritizing tasks, dispatching assignments to the appropriate personnel in order of availability and proximity while maximizing productivity.
  • Monitors task and personnel status in accordance with budgetary and performance objectives.
  • Identifies problems, conducts research, and resolves or makes recommendations to direct reports.
  • Maintains a safe, healthy, orderly, and pleasant work environment for staff; ensures dispatch equipment is safe and in good, clean working condition; provides and maintains adequate levels of supplies and equipment. Makes purchase recommendations when necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with policies and procedures for departmental operations.
  • Conducts continuous improvement management programs including, but not limited to, formal and informal staff observations, daily rounds, key user and patient/family surveys as conducted by Unit Director.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies including, but not limited to, Federal, State, Joint Commission, OSHA, and CDC.
  • Assists Unit Director in achieving financial objectives; ensures department operates within budget; controls expenses within area of responsibility.
  • Assists in analyzing workload trends and staffing levels; makes recommendations when appropriate.
  • Evaluates the performance of subordinates, providing direction and meaningful goals on a consistent basis; recognizes positive employee performance; administers the disciplinary action process; maintains accurate counseling notes.
  • Schedules paid time off and other benefit time; ensures adherence to departmental staffing guidelines on a daily basis; ensures adequate staffing levels are maintained; ensures accuracy of all appropriate records and time sheets.
  • Management of patient transportation add-on services such as, but not limited to, patient observation, lift, courier, valet, or shuttle, where applicable.

Particular Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Exhibits excellent verbal, written, and listening skills.
  • Management skills necessary to plan, organize, direct, and supervise the activities of associates. Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Analytical ability to interpret statistical data, and to distinguish trends and other factors that impact operational activity. General business acumen.
  • Mental ability to provide excellent judgment for problem solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interact, motivate, and communicate with a wide range of staff and hospital personnel in a professional manner.
  • Physical ability to withstand frequent to prolonged walking, standing or sitting.
  • Demonstrates personal computer literacy and basic knowledge of Microsoft office.

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • May be required to complete and successfully pass a company provided CPR or BLS class.

Salary : $55,000
