Position Summary
The Broker is responsible for building strategic partnerships with agents and carriers, expanding reach and securing optimal placements. The role requires them to cultivate strong relationships and nurture existing business, while actively expanding their book through targeted outreach. They seamlessly coordinate between clients and markets, ensuring efficient service and prompt issue resolution guaranteeing accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. They leverage their risk assessment expertise to independently place coverage, providing tailored solutions for diverse client needs.
What will your job entail?
Job Responsibilities:
• Collaborates with senior and lead brokers, forging and nurturing enduring client relationships that drive both client retentions and expands the book of business.
• Identifies new business leads, analyzes online and phone quote activity, and identifies opportunities to expand the business and address potential issues.
• Interfaces between clients and markets, proactively addressing needs, resolving day-to-day issues, and delivering exceptional service and support.
• Applies analytical skills to assess risk exposures and coverage needs in submissions, exercises independent judgment and strategic thinking to place risks with optimal carriers to deliver maximum client benefit.
• Develops a comprehensive understanding of internal operations, effectively leveraging company resources and employing binding authority or brokering strategies to secure the most advantageous placements for clients.
• Drives the insurance and brokerage processes comprising of completion, application handling, archiving, and pipeline management to ensure quick turnaround and optimal efficiency.
• Ensures regulatory and procedural compliance, upholding company, industry, and departmental standards for standardized file management, documentation, and placement processes.
• Develops robust relationships with insurance agents, other brokers, and carriers, actively participating in strategic networking events, internal sales meetings, and industry gatherings.
• Demonstrates commitment to ongoing professional development by diligently completing assigned educational courses, professional designations, and licensing programs.
Work Experience and Education:
• 5 years of work experience in Wholesale Brokerage, Commercial Insurance, Sales or Underwriting with a Bachelor's degree or 3 years of work experience with a Master's degree is preferred. Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered.
Licenses & Certifications:
• State P&C and/or surplus line license is required.
• Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) or Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) is a plus.
