Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results:
Disaster Recovery Planning And Implementation
- Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans, policies, and procedures.
- Identify critical business systems, applications, and processes to prioritize recovery efforts.
- Design and implement solutions for data backup, system replication, and failover procedures.
- Collaborate with IT and business units to align DR plans with organizational needs and compliance requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats to IT infrastructure.
- Recommend and implement measures to mitigate risks and enhance system resilience.
- Ensure DR strategies comply with regulatory and industry standards.
- Plan and execute regular DR testing exercises, including failover simulations and data restoration.
- Document and evaluate test results to identify areas for improvement.
- Update DR plans based on lessons learned from tests and actual incidents.
- Act as a primary point of contact during disaster recovery efforts.
- Coordinate recovery activities with internal teams and external vendors to minimize downtime.
- Monitor and report on the status of recovery efforts and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain detailed documentation of DR plans, procedures, and testing results.
- Generate reports for senior management on DR readiness, test outcomes, and incident resolutions.
- Provide training to staff on DR policies and procedures.
- Promote awareness of disaster recovery and business continuity among employees.
- Provide support for the VMWare environment including the underlining Compute and Storage Infrastructure.
- Provide Systems support including AD, DNS, NTP, DHCP, Windows and Linux Systems.
- Provide support for replication technology including Zerto, OS and File Level Replications.
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems or computer science preferred; relevant/equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Overall 10 years of experience in Information Technology.
- Proven experience in disaster recovery planning, IT systems engineering, or business continuity.
- Strong knowledge of data backup technologies, system replication, and recovery tools.
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as ISO 22301, NIST, or similar frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or IT Disaster Recovery Professional (ITDRP).
- Experience with cloud-based DR solutions and hybrid IT environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and service continuity management.
- Microsoft training and certification is desirable.
- Equivalence 7-10 years experience in a Senior Systems Engineer or Architect position can be a substitute for Microsoft training and certification.
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities
- Full-time position with occasional on-call responsibilities during emergencies.
- May require travel to secondary data centers or remote sites.
