Summary
Manage primary relationship between SAS and its suppliers. Identify new products and programs that can be presented for distribution by SAS. Make decisions on items to purchase within the parameters of the category. Review of product mix to maintain the best-selling items within a category.
Essential Functions
- Administer manufacturer programs within SAS.
- Ensure SAS brings products to market in timely fashion and is leader in new category development (speed to market).
- Coordinate new product setup information with vendors and SAS procurement team.
- Coordinate product introduction information communication to retailers and Sales team.
- Works with the Space Planning team to manage and analyze product mix as it relates to corporate planograms.
- Determine items to feature in all Sales & Marketing material (i.e., monthly marketing, pre-books, distribution drives).
- Solicits vendor deals and allowances for Sales and Marketing functions (i.e., monthly sign packages, trade shows, and pre-bookings).
- Meet regularly with marketing/procurement staff of SAS chain retailers to enhance knowledge of market conditions, retailer and consumer needs.
- Assist in special event coordination – trade show, marketing incentive program, SBX, food service showcase and fall & winter.
- Participates in regular Sales Meetings.
- Researches new items in accordance to special geographic needs.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Hours listed are general hours and may be altered as needed. Additional hours may be required to fulfill job duties and position expectations.
Travel
Limited travel is expected for this position.
Education and Experience
- Must have the verbal, quantitative, and interpersonal skills normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree.
- Three plus (3 ) years’ experience in purchasing/marketing within the wholesale/retail business. In addition, sales background may be considered as marketing experience.
