Position Summary: Crane Operator
Operates lattice boom crawler crane, rough terrain or boom truck. NCCCO or other OSHA recognized certification required. Applicants must pass a practical proficiency test and should have experience driving pile with swinging or fixed leads, heavy lift, working from a barge a plus.

Position Summary: Crane Operator

Responsibilities:
- Observes load hookup and determines safety of load.
- Manipulates or depresses crane controls such as pedals, levers, and buttons, to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement.
- Uses hoisting attachments such as hook or leads as load requires.
- Cleans and maintains crane and hoisting mechanism.
- Inspects crane for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
- Uses critical lift plan checklist and signs off on completion.
- At least five years experience operating a crane in marine and heavy civil construction environments
- Experience operating with pile driving is preferred.
- Certification(s)
- NCCCO Certification for Hydraulic Rough Terrain Cranes up to 100 tons required.
- NCCCO Certification for Lattice-Boom Crawler Cranes up to 230 tons required.
- Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
- Noise levels in the work environment is usually loud.
- Ability to wear and work in personnel protective equipment including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, ankle-supporting safety-toed work boots and a safety vest.
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Extensive moving or positioning heavy weighted materials (up to 50 lbs.).
- Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.
- Must be able to respond quickly to sounds.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and ascend/descend to reach materials or enter heavy equipment.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
