Service Writer/Advisor

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Service Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for customers seeking automotive services, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and expertise. Your responsibilities will include managing service requests, providing estimates, and facilitating communication between customers and technicians. The ideal candidate will possess strong automotive knowledge and exceptional customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and professionally, assessing their automotive service needs.
• Prepare detailed service estimates based on customer requests and vehicle diagnostics.
• Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and customer interactions.
• Upsell additional services or products based on customer needs and vehicle condition.
• Collaborate with technicians to ensure timely completion of services.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Provide clear explanations of services performed to customers, ensuring they understand the work done on their vehicles.
• Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics and repair processes.
• Experience in service writing or a related field is preferred.
• Proficiency in upselling techniques to enhance customer satisfaction and service sales.
• Familiarity with oil change procedures and basic auto maintenance tasks.
• Ability to handle cash transactions responsibly with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of auto estimating practices for accurate service quotes.
• Understanding of auto body repair processes is a plus.
• Mechanical knowledge to communicate effectively with technicians regarding repairs needed.
• Experience with air brake systems is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers.

This position has the ability to potentially earn a monthly bonus.
