S. Clyde Weaver, Inc., a Lancaster County food retailer offering the finest smoked meats, cheeses, baked goods, and prepared foods since 1920, is seeking an experienced candidate for the position of Facilities Maintenance Technician. This position assists the Facilities Manager with HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electrical and refrigeration systems, equipment maintenance and general construction needs at various locations. Monday - Friday; 7:00am - 3:30pm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including building repairs, replacing or repairing equipment, appliances, fixtures, and systems.
- Track and perform preventative maintenance tasks.
- Purchase parts and supplies for building and equipment maintenance.
- Respond to building and equipment alarms and emergency situations.
- Conduct inspections to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
- Provide basic vehicle maintenance – refueling, tire inflation, wiper replacement, etc.
- Ensure all equipment and building systems are maintained in accordance with safety regulations and best practices, minimizing hazards and maximizing operational efficiency.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Provide excellent customer service to team members.
- Supervise and coordinate contractors when necessary.
- Travel to various retail locations when necessary.
- Work closely with production, warehouse, and management teams to address any maintenance needs and ensure smooth operations across departments and locations.
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized workspaces.
- Responsible for snow removal and groundskeeping as needed.
- On call expectation; primary responder, 1-2 calls per month.
- Other duties as assigned by Facilities Manager.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Professional interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and HVAC systems.
- Strong mechanical and technical skills.
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.
- Problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work independently.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to follow directions.
- Proficient with or ability to learn the following software programs: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
- Certification to operate forklift, SCW vehicles, etc.
- Valid driver’s license.
Working Conditions
- Employee is regularly exposed to various temperature changes while walking in and out of coolers.
- Ability to bend, reach, climb, and stand for periods of time.
- Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry various weights up to 50 pounds.
