Position Overview:

We are a rapidly growing home services company in need of an experienced and hands-on Interim Controller. The Interim Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. This role requires someone with deep experience in Sage Intacct and a strong background in financial management within a small-to-medium-sized business environment.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and self-driven individual with a hands-on approach to financial management and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Coordinate the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Develop and maintain financial forecasts and budgets, providing insights to management on variances.
• Monitor and improve internal controls and processes to ensure financial integrity and compliance.
• Analyze financial performance and provide actionable recommendations for business growth and profitability.
• Work with senior leadership to assess cash flow and working capital needs.
• Lead the preparation of financial reports for external stakeholders, including auditors and investors.
• Utilize Sage Intacct to manage financial data, reporting, and integration with other systems.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to support business decision-making.
• Manage a small team, providing training, coaching, and leadership.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent preferred.
• 5 years of accounting/finance experience, with at least 2-3 years in a Controller or senior accounting role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Sage Intacct (required).
• Solid understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience in home services or similar industries is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
