JIB Revenue Accountant / Property Accountant
Salary range is $80,000-90,000
Onsite role - located in McKinney, TX
Must have revenue / JIB accounting experience in the oil and gas industry or similar
This position is responsible for timely and accurate processing, analysis, approval, and payment of G&A invoices, land invoices, non-operated oil and gas joint interest billing invoices and West Texas operated invoices. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with internal controls, COPAS and Joint Operating Agreements in booking all charges on these properties. General duties include preparation of reconciliation reports on specific general ledger accounts. This position is also the point contact for Open Invoice.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Analyze, code, obtain approval and process company G&A, land, non-operated & West Texas operated oil and gas invoices.
Verify coding and AFE numbers for accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
Accounts Payable check run.
Research and solve all balance discrepancies with non-operated JIB statements.
Process company expense card charges, coding and billing of monthly statement for all employees.
If available by operator, utilize JIBLink and Excel to download & upload JIB invoices.
Analyze monthly LOS reports for Non-Operated wells and identify any problematic wells.
Point contact for Open Invoice, review and post West Texas Operated Invoices.
Cash Management – Assist with bank activities, processing ACH / wires and reconciling cash accounts.
Participate in month end close activities i.e., journal entries, reconciliations, and reviewing non op JIB entries.
Provide accounting support to financial manager.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with a minimum of 2 years of oil and gas experience.
Thorough knowledge of Joint Interest Accounting and the understanding of COPAS rules applicable to drilling, completion and operations of oil & gas wells.
Ability to coordinate with other departments and to professionally and courteously work with others.
Strong time management, planning and organizational skills required.
Proficient computer skills (Excel, Enertia and Open Invoice)
Highly motivated with strong initiative lending to self-direction & study.
