Summary:
S&H Systems is a single-source, full-service systems integration company delivering dependable material handling systems, software, and post-sale support since 2002. We are looking for an Engineering Intern with a passion for developing material handling solutions on behalf of our customers to enable them to achieve their business goals.
In this role, you will collaborate with a highly skilled and interdisciplinary team of mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, operational and execution teams, and customer development teams. Your ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently, retain a sense of urgency, and meet strict timelines will set you apart.
You have good people skills and the ability to work effectively with other organizations and individuals at all levels. You have an ability to learn quickly and a desire to broaden your skills and experience. Interns are introduced to the process of developing designs from conception through product launch. In this position, you will provide engineering support on design projects and process development with other team members.
Responsibilities
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Design components and sub-systems that form parts of complex systems.
- Create, maintain, and monitor design standards ensuring that they follow S&H standards.
- Analyze data to determine if product design meets function and performance specifications.
- Create, maintain, and improve BOM structures for a variety of systems.
- Utilize your Engineering capabilities to support projects within multiple groups internally at S&H.
- In conjunction with Engineering Managers, evaluate and improve design changes, process definitions, and work standards.
- Implement effective Engineering principles to improve upon current designs.
- Work cross functionally with other disciplines within the company to review projects, offer solutions, and hold teams accountable.
- Work well as a member of a team and adapt to a changing environment.
Qualifications
Skills:
- Knowledge of Autodesk products such as Inventor, AutoCAD, REVIT, etc.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Excel, Project, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Engineering fundamentals such as Machine Analysis and Engineering Design.
- Previous technical internship(s), if applicable.
- Experience with Autodesk products such as Inventor, AutoCAD, REVIT, etc.
- A broad technical background in areas such as CAD Programs, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or other related field.
- Excellent analytical skills and adept at handling ambiguous or undefined problems.
Education and Experience:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field at time of application.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Travel Requirement:
- No travel required.
