What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Counselor position at S&H Youth and Adult Services?
SHYAS CARES in Salisbury, NC is currently hiring for 2 Residential Counselors. The SHYAS CARES Residential Recovery Support Specialist work 2 days on and 2 days off/12 hour shifts from 8:30am/pm to 8:30am/pm. Residential Recovery Support Specialist are self-starters, ambitious, and a hard-working persons who self-identifies as being in recovery.
Responsibilities
S&H Youth and Adult Services Residential Recovery Support Specialist (Residential Counselors)
- Provide residential supports to male SUD residential recovery support participants
- Facilitate recovery skills group counseling and education sessions to assist clients in meeting therapeutic goals
- Conducting individual counseling to provide crises intervention, support & guidance, and address participant behaviors and personal problems in the residential facility.
- Accompany participants to self-help groups in the community.
- Documenting participants' progress and responses to services.
Job Requirements:
- Two years of personal recovery or more required
- Related work experience with a program-specific population (adult) in a residential treatment setting required
