Description:
The Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Analyst will support and maintain the organi-zations HRIS applications and modules. The Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) is in need of an HRIS Analyst to perform support, configuration, and large volume data entry tasks in DOCTime (Time, Attendance, and Leave Management) and Cardinal Human Capital Manage-ment (HCM). The individual will perform back-end data and configuration work (much of which is very manual-touching individual employee time & system records), but will also be responsi-ble for managing mailboxes with customer requests/inquires for systems access and other in-quiries.
Expected Duration:
While the PO is only issued through the remainder of the year to align with the cycle of existing POs, the agency will be extending another 6-12 months if we get a candidate that is performing as we expect.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Supports the HRIS Unit, which may include large volume of data entry in both the Time and Attendance System (DOCTime) and Human Capital Management system (Cardinal).
• Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HR system users.
• Manages permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and set-tings for HR system users.
• Managing mailboxes with customer requests/inquires for access and other needs.
• Audits and updates HRIS data fields as necessary.
• Programs custom functions and documentation such as automated queries, filters, and reports.
• Compiles or assists with the acquisition of complex data reports, summaries, and logs for senior executives and HR staff.
• Ensures system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
• Collaborates with HR staff and vendor to identify system improvements and enhance-ments; recommends and implements solutions.
• Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in HRIS providers, vendors, and tech-nology.
• Performs other duties as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and technical support skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with human resource policies and procedures to ensure the HRIS meets or-ganizational needs and goals.
• Ability to keep information confidential.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, with strong Excel skills.
• Thorough understanding of all areas of information systems with a highly technical un-derstanding of at least one commercial HRIS product.
Education and Experience:
• At least two years related experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, human resource management, or related field preferred.
• SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.
Skills:
• Ability to work with, update, and maintain HRIS databases - 3 Years
• Understanding of information systems with a highly technical understanding of at least one commercial HRIS product - 3 Years
