Your Role: Hands-On, Impactful, and Fast-Paced
As an Entry-Level Construction Materials Engineering Technician in Greenville, NC, you will gain practical experience in construction materials testing while working on dynamic projects that shape our communities.
What You'll Do:
- Analyze project documents and specifications before starting fieldwork to ensure compliance.
- Conduct field and laboratory tests on construction materials, including soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates.
- Utilize Metafield® application for accurate field and laboratory data entry.
- Maintain field and laboratory equipment to ensure precision and industry compliance.
- Communicate with project stakeholders, including management, contractors, and clients, to report findings and progress.
What We're Looking For:
- A High School diploma/GED
- A minimum of 0-2 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- A certification from any of the following is a plus:
- American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I, Strength Testing Technician, Laboratory Technician
- A strong ability to communicate effectively in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
- A basic understanding of math concepts related to weight, volume, pressure, and units of measurement
What to Expect:
With the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), you will:
- Work primarily outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Walk over rough, uneven terrain and stand for extended periods (up to 12 hours).
- Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. of materials and equipment.
- Maneuver field equipment safely around active construction sites.
