Title: Fund Accountant, Donor-Advised Funds (DAF)

Salary Range: $120k - $140k/annually, depending on experience
Summary:
We are looking for a Fund Accountant, Donor-Advised Funds (DAF), for a leading wealth management and tax (RIA) firm in Seattle. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in private investments, private equity, private credit, donor-advised fund (DAF) accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. Candidates will need strong experience in wealth management, financial services, and fund accounting, and recent experience working with high-net-worth individual clients with assets exceeding $3M, preferably from a wealth management, investment services, or financial services company.
Responsibilities:
- Perform the daily accounting functions for private funds, including reconciling cash and investment positions, recording investment transactions, and calculating net asset values (NAV).
- Interface with fund service platforms and administrators.
- Ensure timely, accurate financial statement preparation of investor reports, regulatory filings, financial statements, K-1s, and regulatory filings according to GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Initiate capital calls and distributions for fund shareholders.
- Manage annual audit processes, including providing documentation and support to external auditors.
- Manage donor-advised funds (DAF) accounting functions, including investment activities, recording contributions, and distributions.
- Design and improve workflows for client donations.
- Prepare financial statements and reports for donor-advised funds (DAF), ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and donor restrictions.
- Work closely with donor advisors and charitable organizations, addressing accounting inquiries and providing necessary support.
Requirements / Qualifications:
- CPA License is preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- 3 years of experience managing donor-advised fund (DAF) accounting functions, including investment activities, recording contributions, and distributions.
- 3 years of experience performing daily accounting functions for private funds, including reconciling cash and investment positions, recording investment transactions, and calculating net asset values (NAV).
- 3 years of experience interfacing with fund service platforms and administrators.
- 3 years of experience ensuring timely, accurate financial statement preparation of investor reports, regulatory filings, financial statements, K-1s, and regulatory filings, according to GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Experience initiating capital calls and distributions for fund shareholders.
- Experience in designing and improving workflows for client donations.
- 3 years of experience preparing financial statements and reports for donor-advised funds (DAF), ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and donor restrictions.
- 3 years of experience managing annual audit processes, including providing documentation and support to external auditors.
- 3 years of experience in wealth management, providing financial services for high-net-worth clients (with assets exceeding $3M) and demonstrating a strong understanding of their unique financial needs and investment strategies.
- 3 years of professional experience managing donor-advised funds (DAF) within a wealth management firm, private investment firm, private equity firm, or financial services company.
- 3 years of (recent) experience in donor-advised (DAF) accounting, fund accounting, investment accounting, and partnership accounting roles.
- Must have experience working closely with donor advisors and charitable organizations, addressing accounting inquiries, and providing necessary support.
- Strong knowledge of and experience in GAAP accounting principles, investment accounting principles, and regulatory requirements for private equity funds.
- Must be proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
