What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Risk Management position at S&S Employment Partners?
Our client seeks a Director of Risk Management to evaluate strategies and oversee operations.
This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity where you will earn up to $131,722 based on experience, along with excellent benefits. You will work Monday-Friday 8AM-5Pm and occasional evenings as needed with a hybrid option after 90 days. This position is approximately 30-45 minutes from the Des Moines Metro area.
Some of your responsibilities as Director of Risk Management will include:
- Conducting risk assessments and evaluations
- Closely working with all leadership teams and management
- Leading risk management programs
- Ensuring all procedures, protocols and strategies are fully implemented to protect the company and its assets
- Developing and overseeing new strategies and reduce risks during
- Leading regulatory exams and meetings
- Promoting a culture of risk awareness through education
- Overseeing the Risk Management department
- Other duties as assigned
To qualify for Director of Risk Management, you must have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- Eight to ten (8-10) years of similar experience
- Experience and strong knowledge of risk and compliance in financial industry; credit union is a plus
- Leadership experience
- Understanding of regulatory requirements
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Ability to deliver results within a complex environment
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to identify trends and themes for reporting
- Ability to motivate others
- Strong communication skills
