Quality Control Manager to provide support to the Quality Department.
Quality Manager
Job Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for performing, overseeing, and managing the employees, activities, and processes associated with the inspection and quality related responsibilities at S&S Worldwide. These responsibilities include incoming product inspection, in-process and final inspections for machining, welding, coating, assembly, controls, and NDT operations, as well as all related quality records management. The Quality Manager is also responsible for developing, implementing, managing, and improving quality related processes within the S&S Quality Management System (QMS), including inspection and testing, the control of non-conforming product, inspection, measuring and test equipment calibration, corrective action, and welding management processes.
Responsibilities
- Help develop a strong quality culture within both the quality department and production environment utilizing the process approach
- Have a strong focus on employee mentorship and team development to build a well-trained, engaged, and competent quality department that can support organizational needs and objectives
- Ensure a high level of professionalism in all activities, interactions, and communication with both internal and external customers
- Investigate and correct issues relating to non-conforming product or process and help drive a culture of continuous improvement
- Conduct and supervise workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure efficient productivity and technical integrity
- Coordinate quality process objectives with production operations and objectives to help drive efficiencies, first pass yield, and other shared improvement initiatives
- Create, document, and implement inspection criteria and procedures
- Provide, and oversee, inspection activity for products throughout production cycle, including visual, dimensional, NDT and other inspection methods as appropriate
- Assist with analytical and reporting processes relating to quality metrics
- Interact with vendors and supply chain to ensure quality of all purchased parts
- Assist in the development and application of quality training programs
- Support the S&S QMS as a Process Owner
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in inspection and quality control in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a leadership capacity
- Strong leadership qualities. Must be able to be a working manager that can effectively lead a small team of inspectors in a positive and engaged manner aligned with organizational needs
- Accountability to self, the team, and the organization in meeting planned expectations
- Proficient in technical drawings, GD&T, and use of common inspection, measuring and test equipment for dimensional inspections.
- Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) preferred, or will need to obtain while on the job
- ASNT-TC-1A certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Penetrant Testing (PT) preferred, or will need to obtain while on the job
- Availability for infrequent in-area and out-of-area, overnight travel
