We are a Certified AWI (Architectural Woodworking Institute), KCMA (Kitchen Cabinet Manufactures Association), accredited in the FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council), and QCP (Quality Certified Program). With these Certifications and Accreditations it ensures that our customers will receive the highest quality products required of all commercial casework manufacturers throughout the Midwest Region.
Job Purpose:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for matching colors for staining, sand and prep surfaces, ability to use regular airless and/or air assisted sprayer to apply sealer, clear and tinted lacquers, specialty finishes and glazes. Use of respirator required for application of finishes working within an open faced spray booth and make up air system. Prior experience in the use of a spray finish and/or spray gun is a requirement. (Auto Body spray painting will be a transferable skill for this position).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Able to understand blueprint drawings and written specification;
- Understand work orders, change orders, and all other related job documents;
- Excellent eye sight for matching colors in the spray painting process;
- A medical evaluation will be given to determine if you are able to use/wear a respirator safely. This will be at S&W expense prior to your first day of hire;
- Use of job specific hand tools to prep surfaces;
- Ability to detect quality discrepancies before painting/staining process;
- Ability to manage priorities to meet company goals and objectives;
- Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision;
- Must be a self-starter, willing to work with little direction and a high level of self-motivation to complete jobs on time and within budget;
- This is a full time position, Monday – Friday, hours of work 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications & Competencies:
- Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in the use of regular airless or air assisted sprayer, prior related Military experience, and technical degree in lieu of experience will be acceptable (i.e. auto body painting).

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Mental Demands: the employee must be able to follow directions, to get along with others,and handle stress;
- Work environment: The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times when using power equipment and hearing protection will be provided. The use of, and fitting of a respirator will be required.
