Intermediate Design Architect / Planner
S9 Architecture is an award-winning full-service design firm composed of 50 designers dedicated to designing everything from interior spaces to buildings and neighborhoods that respectfully integrate and enhance communities and cities.
S9 Architecture is seeking a talented Intermediate Design Architect / Planner with strong design and management skills. This role offers the opportunity to lead design initiatives and manage projects across North America, contributing to a dynamic and collaborative studio environment.
What You Bring to the Studio:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Urban Planning.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years of relevant post-graduate experience in an architecture or urban design firm (U.S. project experience preferred).
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Rhino, AutoCAD, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is required. Working knowledge of Revit, Bluebeam preferred.
- Skills & Attributes:
- Strong design sensibility with a keen eye for detail.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent graphic, written, and verbal communication skills, with experience in delivering presentations.
Key Areas You’ll Focus on include (not limited to):
- Collaborate with project teams to develop and present compelling master plans and architectural designs.
- Work closely with Design Principals to generate innovative concepts and ensure design integrity throughout the process.
- Develop designs that align with project timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
- Manage multiple projects efficiently, balancing short-term contributions to various teams when needed.
- Maintain and enhance the firm’s design quality standards.
- Assist Principals in project scheduling, scope definition, and coordination with consultants and stakeholders.
- Develop and drive master plan supporting the design intent and narrative.
- Positively impact the urban space with a full understanding of ground plane importance.

Compensation: $80,000-$95,000 based upon experience, qualifications and education.
