We do this by considering the environment and people at every step - from our materials, supply chain, manufacturing, packaging, and circularity initiatives - to creating pieces that have limited impact on the environment without sacrificing design, convenience, or comfort. In 2021, two end-of-life programs - Repair Don’t Replace and Sabai Revive (resale program honored by Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas awards).
We are looking for a strategic, analytical, and problem-solving Director of Marketing & Ecommerce to become an integral part of our team. This role requires a business leader with a can-do, test-and-learn, entrepreneurial and innovative mindset. You will own, direct, and oversee the execution of Sabai’s direct-to-consumer channel and be responsible for driving DTC sales growth, increasing marketing efficiencies, and enhancing customer engagement and loyalty. This hands-on role, reporting to the CEO, will work directly on all aspects of the DTC business, including customer acquisition, retention, and cross-channel marketing analytics. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving growth through data-driven marketing strategies, managing and optimizing campaigns, and scaling digital businesses. This is a hybrid role based in New York, NY, with up to 50% in-person time (flexible).
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Create, Manage & Execute Growth Strategy
- P&L Management - Own the ecommerce P&L, overseeing sales, budgets, and expenses to maximize ROAS. You will be responsible for owning KPIs focused on new customer acquisition, retention, and marketing efficiency, among others.
- Business Planning - Work with Sabai’s leadership team to formulate strategy, design promotions and events, and sales forecasts.
- Team Management - Lead Sabai’s marketing team, ensuring collaboration amongst agencies, operations and marketing (including copy, graphics, photography, creative) to align with overall business goals.
- Paid - Oversee and work collaboratively with our paid advertising agency on the execution of paid digital strategies across channels including, but not limited to paid social and paid search.
- Website - Oversee the optimization of the site experience and web analytics - A/B testing, landing page optimization, and conversion rate optimization.
- CRM -Optimization - Perform audits and refinements to optimize conversions and enhance the performance of diverse marketing channels, ensuring a seamless and efficient customer purchasing journey.
Drive New Customer Acquisition
- Build and execute strategies to drive owned, earned and paid new customer acquisition
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics, such as sales, conversion rates, AOV, CAC, ROAS and customer lifetime value, to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
- Work with graphic designer to deliver best in class assets and learnings to optimize acquisition channels for maximized conversions (Organic, SEO, Paid, Affiliate, PR, Email, Social)
- Lead in the research of website industry trends, benchmarking & best practices, and identifying opportunities to make improvements that impact sales
- Manage agency partnerships (not limited to Paid Ads, PR, Affiliate) to drive operational efficiency and creative innovation
Enhance Customer Experience, Retention and Brand loyalty
- Develop and optimize customer segmentation to best understand and improve conversion of our existing customers
- Build tools and strategies to improve personalization throughout the website, email, SMS, and other marketing customer experiences to achieve industry best retention rates
- Leverage customer data and insights to continuously improve customer funnel and retention strategies
Help to Elevate and Improve Sabai’s Website, Social, and User Experience
- Oversee Sabai’s website to optimize for conversion and a positive customer experience.
- Manage relationship with external agency responsible for website development and maintenance, working through all issues and driving toward meaningful solutions
- Conduct regular audits, A/B tests and usability tests to identify areas for improvement on websites, ads, customer funnel and audience engagement.
- Be able and excited to implement enhancements to drive conversion rates and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee the launch of new products and campaigns on Sabai’s website.
- Ensure all creative assets are in line with brand strategy and ethos.
- Manage Sabai’s email and SMS calendar and program, ensuring campaigns and flows are optimized, regularly audited, and updated.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Oversee internal and external creative team to provide guidance and feedback on creative assets, ensuring they are visually appealing, on-brand, and optimized for the online platform
- Work closely with the Operations team to align on objectives and strategies for customer service, website functionality and fulfillment
- Work closely with the Product team to align on product fit for audience, timelines, and best positioning for produce release and go-to-market strategy
- Support the C-suite in close partnership with the Finance team, to analyze our DTC business and make recommendations on how to read and react to this information
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Minimum of 5 years experience within an e-commerce domain in a digital growth role
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen, with a track record of managing and executing successful DTC strategies
- Solid knowledge of digital marketing and the underlying mechanics of acquisition, retention, and analytics
- Demonstrated experience with testing and executing segmentation strategies
- Proven experience and knowledge of the Digital Marketing side of ecommerce, hands-on experience with paid, SEO, SEM, A/B testing, landing page optimization, conversion rate optimization, and web analytics (GA).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making
- Strong communication abilities, with a proactive, collaborative and motivational approach
- Small company experience; able to thrive in high-velocity, lean environment
