Divisional Safety Advisor
Saber Power Services, LLC, (SPS) headquartered in Houston, TX is a nationally recognized full service, EPC, specialty engineering, procurement, construction and testing and commissioning company specializing in complex medium and high voltage electrical infrastructure in North America.
Saber Power Services seeks a professional, dedicated individual with a positive outlook for a Divisional Safety Advisor role.
Main Responsibilities:
Direct HSSE resource to the Division Management Team (Business Unit) and indirect oversight of the Regional Safety Advisors and Safety Advisors. Oversight and involvement in observations, audits, assessments, coaching, training, emergency response, incident response and investigations to ensure the safety program is effectively implemented and functioning properly to protect our employees, clients and all others who perform work on our project locations and facilities. Lead root cause analysis, development of project or client specific HSSE programs and procedures, ensures compliance with customer programs and policies, and other tasks directed by the Saber Leadership, Division Management, HSSE Manager, Project Manager, or Project Superintendent.
Job Description Summary:
- Safety program implementation, compliance, and maintenance.
- Working knowledge of OSHA 1910 and 1926, NFPA, and other industry specific regulations.
- Event Reporting, investigation, completion.
- Site and Client Specific Safety Plan development.
- Prevention of occupational illness, injury, regulatory and safety program violations.
- Ensure that all field employees are properly trained for the tasks they are assigned.
- Work with project management team to identify project/field risks and implement controls.
- Maintain project / job safety coverage schedule.
- Provide feedback to management relative to project/field safety compliance.
- Provide safety training to employees as directed by management.
- Implement and monitor Client and Corporate Safety Program, Procedures and Policies
- Identifies/mitigates existing and potential employee/public safety concerns.
- Review of inspections and observations data.
- Coaching, Training, and Evaluation of supervisors, employees, and subcontractors (when applicable).
- Emergency and Incident Response.
- Miscellaneous client support.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Skills & Abilities:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree desired.
- Professional certifications desired.
- Electrical knowledge and/or experience is highly desired.
- Bi-Lingual (speaking/writing) English/Spanish a plus.
- Ability to report to work for differing shifts or be called-in when needed.
- Strong organizational and document management skills a must.
- Ability to multitask and maintain effectiveness with multiple priorities.
- Professional demeanor; remain calm and emotionally controlled under pressure.
- Positive attitude and understanding of differing opinions.

- Must have a valid Driver's License and acceptable driving history.
- Facility/Construction experience desired.
- Specific documented evidence of training and experience to satisfy qualifications.
- Ability to gain access to secure facilities (TWIC and Gov. Security Clearance).
- Able to gain access to customer sites, no history of removal for cause or infractions.
Physical Demands:
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Bend, stoop & crawl.
- Ascend and descend ladders.
- Waking, standing, sitting, or driving for extended periods of time.
- Work and drive in inclement weather (Hot and Cold Temperatures, Rain, Wind, etc.).
- Sedentary work when required (report writing, training, etc.).
- Travel up to 50% when required (Mostly Regional).
